During my Information Design course at the University of Tennessee, I designed an 8 ft. wide poster showcasing various data of New York State in a unique and engaging way. Inspired by the area’s graffiti history, the design features a bird’s-eye view of various styles of buildings, each of which depicts a different piece of information. Subtle details like the style of house design and the density of the structures (the western area of the map being less populated than the southeastern area of the map, for example) showcase attention to detail and craftsmanship. Every element is hand-illustrated, and the poster was hand cut to maintain the visual style of a thick backdrop on graffiti lettering.
